Tom DeWeese - is founder of the American Policy Center and Freedom21.com, and is at the tip of the spear in the fight for private property rights, and resisting "sustainable development." He is an outstanding, inspirational speaker who will kick off this conference by setting forth the reasons why we must advance the principles of freedom in public policy, at every level of government.

2:00 pm Session 2 - HOW TO protect your community from sustainable development

    Daniel Beckett - Recognizing Sustainable policy and practices in your county. He has been deeply involved in activities in Santa Cruz County to prevent a complete take-over of the county by "sustainable development" enthusiasts.

    Joanne Nathan - Strategizing a response. Joanne is a key participant in Freedom21 Santa Cruz and her skills have helped this group become a national leader in developing effective responses to the onrush of "sustainable development."

    Roy Avila - Freedom 21 Santa Cruz ; A Tool Chest for Local Responders

    Michael Shaw - "The Road to Renewal" - 1) The consequence of compromise in the battle against political globalism; 2) How the meaning of private property is being compromised; 3) The quickening pace of Sustainable Development implementation; and 4) Principle as the basis for a genuine political revival in America.

4:00 pm Session 3 - HOW TO build an effective organization

    Norman Davis

    Norm Davis - heads the Take Back Kentucky organization, which is one of the most effective statewide coalitions in the nation. He has led workshops in several states, and has developed an organizational plan of action that has yielded positive results time and time again, in the Kentucky Legislature.

8:30 am Session 4 - HOW TO control education in your state

    Allen Quist - author of FedEd, has been instrumental in getting Minnesota to reject the federal education curriculum. A founding member of EdWatch, He has helped raise national awareness of the problems inherent in federal education, and has charted a course every state should follow.
    Michael Chapman - has analyzed federally-funded textbooks, and will illustrate their misguided lessons. Learn how your children are being taught to "fit the mold" at the expense of learning how to achieve individual excellence. Take this message back to your local school board.
    Dr. Karen Effrem - has provided testimony for Congress, as well as in-depth analysis of numerous pieces of major federal education, health, and early childhood legislation for Congressional staff and many organizations. As a pediatrician and researcher, she brings a special perspective on education issues.

10:30 am Session 5 - What do we do with 47 U.N. Biosphere Reserves?

    This session puts the founder of the U.S. Biosphere Reserve Association, together with the founders of Sovereignty International, on the same platform. One organization helped to create the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Program, the other has been working for years to end it. Learn how and why both organizations are working to enact legislation dealing with biosphere reserves.

    Henry Lamb - Chairman of Sovereignty International, will provide an overview of the Biosphere Reserve issue and discuss how the current legislative initiative came about - including the efforts to resolve conflicting interests.
    Tom Gilbert - was UNESCO's MAB staff coordinator and planner for the international Biosphere program. He proposed and helped to implement the 1974 Nixon-Brezhnev (U.S.-U.S.S.R.) Summit Agreement on Biosphere Reserves, and was the U.S. MAB Program Coordinator. He is now the founding President of the U.S. Biosphere Reserve Association, and will present the legislative objectives he would like to see enacted.
    Dr. Stuart A. Foster - is a member of the Mammoth Cave Area Biosphere Reserve Council. He is the Director of the Kentucky Climate Center and Kentucky Mesonet, and serves as the State Climatologist for Kentucky. He is also a professor in the Department of Geography and Geology at Western Kentucky University. He received his Ph.D. in Geography from The Ohio State University.
    Dr. Jack Ranney - recently retired from the University of Tennessee as a research ecologist in the Energy, Environment and Resources Center. He is currently involved with the Southern Appalachian Biosphere Reserve, one of the largest in the nation.
    Tom McDonnell - is a founding director of Sovereignty International. He discovered the draft copy of the Global Biosiversity Assessment which led to the defeat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. His analysis of the 47 U.S. Biosphere Reserves led to the current legislative initiative. He will present Sovereignty International's legislative objectives.
    Dr. Michael Coffman - led the effort to defeat the Convention on Biological Diversity. He produced the maps used on the Senate floor to convince Senators to block the vote on the treaty. He is an authority on Biosphere Reserves and their impact on private property rights and resource use. See his presentation on the Endangered Species Act, and on Taking Liberty.

12:00 pm - Luncheon (Included in registration)

    Steve Pratt - will be the luncheon speaker. His work with Cleon Skousen, and the National Center for Constitutional Studies has equipped him well to inspire audiences with his call for all Americans to help advance the principles of freedom.

2:00 pm Session 6 - HOW TO deal with government agencies

    Don Casey - is Vice Chair of Alabama's Alliance for Citizen's Rights. He and his organization have been at the forefront of many battles to protect private property rights. Learn how they deal with government agencies in Alabama.

    Ken Freeman - is Chairman of Alabama's Alliance for Citizen's Rights. He and Don are a powerful duo, leading their organization to win eminent domain legislation, and to ward off attacks on the state's Constitution.

    John Riley - led the campaign to end EPA's Vehicle Emissions Testing in Louiville, and Jefferson County, Kentucky. His multi-year campaign produced positive results for his community, and a wealth of lessons that he will share in this session.
    Larry Brown - Co-Founded Veto the V.E.T. (vehicle emission testing) to fight the EPA mandated testing program run by the state, using scientific research refuting EPA claims and voter's phone calls to end the program. How he fought city hall and won, election and voters do matter.

4:00 pm Session 7 - HOW TO become more effective

    Jim Beers - is retired from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as Refuge Manager, Special Agent, & Wildlife Biologist. He has a wealth of knowledge about how to deal with federal agencies. His message will help you become more effective.

    Howard Hutchinson - is the Executive Director of the Arizona/New Mexico Coalition of Counties. He will show us how to avoid being conned by the "consensus process." Howard has much experience with this process, and his message can empower you to upset the applecart for consensus facilitators.

8:30 am Session 8 - HOW TO fund your organization

    Tom DeWeese - has extensive experience with direct mail and other fund-raising techniques. He will also explain Freedom21.com, "Freedom's gathering place on the net."
    Henry Lamb - Will report on progress of the Freedom21 Federal Credit Union, and explain its function and services, and how every member and every organization can benefit from participation.

9:15 am - HOW TO prevent the U.S. military from serving under U.N. command.

    Daniel New - will discuss a bill that will allow members of the armed forces to opt-out of serving under the command of the United Nations. His son, Michael New, refused to serve the U.N., and was court martialed. His case has been in litigation for years.

10:30 am Session 9 - HOW TO influence legislation

    Judith McGeary - HOW TO stop the NAIS - Judith is a Texas attorney who has been active in stopping the NAIS in her state. She is a founding member of the steering committe of the Liberty Ark Coalition, created to develop a national strategy for ending this absurd invasions of private property rights. She is also the founding Executive Director of the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance.
    Kent Snyder - directs The Liberty Committee, which is headed by Congressman Ron Paul, and consists of more than 20 Congressmen, and thousands of Americans who are dedicated to advancing the principles of freedom. He will provide an overview of the legislative issues that need our attention.
    Mike Hardiman - has returned from two years in Iraq, and is again at work in D.C. looking out for the interests of property rights, and resource use advocates. He is a long-time friend of our movement and a valuable asset in Washington.
     

    1:30 pm - Session 10 - Reports from the field

      (If you would like to have time on the program to report the activities of your organization, please send your request, along with a description of your project, to this address. We would like reports from as many states as possible.)

      Duggan Flanakin - will report on the activities of the Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow's international outreach, the Social Entrepreneurship and Free-Market Environmentalism Demonstration (SEFED) program. CFACT is advancing the principles of freedom in Europe, on American college campuses, and around the world. He will be speaking on "Winning the World for Freedom through Hands-On Partnerships with the Poor."
      Shirley Daniel - is president of Kentucky's Eagle Forum. She will report on their activities, and discuss upcoming issues of concern to Eagle Forum Kentucky and across the nation.
